Under the Spell of Art

In other words, why this site and why this blog?

Art & Understanding Magazine folded at the end of September 2022 after the passing of its Publisher and Editor-in-Chief. It created a void in the reporting on the HIV and AIDS pandemic, one that couldn’t quite be filled by other existing HIV-focused publications.

The ART Spell Zine doesn’t claim to fill that void, but rather to add to the reporting on this ongoing pandemic, perhaps from a different perspective. The ART Spell Zine has been a work in progress for several years now, from idea to ongoing changes to its website. (lack of time doesn’t help, either!)

The ART Spell Zine Journal is a space for sharing experiences, updates, and journeys through the past, present, and future of the HIV and AIDS pandemic

Hope that you will visit us, as the ART Spell will journal individual and collective journeys from the darkness of AIDS to the Lazarus effect of HAART meds, modern-day treatment and prevention, and hopefully soon, to the end of the HIV epidemic. Feel free to join us.
