Welcome to the ART Spell Zine, an online safe space for those who’ve found themselves under the “spell” of art (and/or ART).
The ART Spell Zine was co-founded by award-winning photographer and long-term AIDS survivor Kurt Weston; and HIV and AIDS writer, photographer and educator Alina Oswald, as an online safe space for open and honest conversations about the HIV and AIDS pandemic.
The ART Spell Zine began as an idea, a couple of years ago. While still very much a work in progress, the Zine offers individual and collective journeys through the history of HIV and AIDS thus far, as well as updates highlighting ongoing strides and strategies towards a possible future free of HIV.
